Description: Heavy Weight Stiff Iron on Buckram Interfacing Ideal for hats & Collars Fabric 114cm  M1145

BUCKRAM

A cloth made from cotton and heavily impregnated yarn with size to give it a very stiff finish.

Used for stiffen in millinery, waistbands and bookbinding. 

(The size may wash out.)

Handling

Very stiff and springy; it may need pressing to remove the curl it adopts on the roll. 

When cutting, it may be necessary to

place objects on the corners of the buckram to hold it flat. 

Often cut on the cross so that it has give'. Do not add seam allowances as it is too stiff to include in seams. 

Cut exactly to

size and attach to fabric with machining or herringbone stitch.

Will not fray.

Thread

Polyester or cotton.

Needle

Machine: 100 16. Large stitch.

Hand: 5-6. Very difficult to hand-sew.

Pressing

Hot iron.

Care

Dry clean.
